When you are living with lupus, it is so important to have a strong support system. To be around friends and family who understand the devastating impact of the disease and who can be a motivating force each day.

Living with lupus can be terrifying. You have so many questions and are on a quest for answers. For us, our lupus journeys got a little easier when we met each other at our rheumatologist’s office and immediately became great friends.

We continue to fight and are both successfully managing our disease. We want to give back to others who are living with lupus and rally for more education, support services, research, and - someday - a cure. We have found a way to do so through the Lupus Foundation of America’s Walk for Lupus Now®, which kicks off its fall Walk season this month.

Together, along with Zenay’s sister, actress and singer Tichina Arnold, who many of you know for her roles in the FOX sitcom Martin, the UPN/CW sitcom Everybody Hates Chris, and TV Land's Happily Divorced starring Fran Drescher, we will participate in the upcoming Walk for Lupus Now event in our community. Every step you take and each dollar you raise supports the LFA’s mission of raising awareness of lupus and advancing the science and medicine of the disease.

We need more resources. We need more research. We NEED a CURE.
